Outdoor Sign Company for The Aviary
The Aviary situated on the corner of the Murray Street Mall and William Street in Perth CBD is another feather in The Publican Group’s hat. With several other licensed venues throughout Melbourne, The Aviary joins The George, Wolf Lane and The Burnleigh here in Western Australia.
Initially, we were subcontracted through Architectural and Interior Design client, Habitat 1 as the interior and outdoor sign company. Our project brief was to supply and install the various signage and graphics components as seen in the case study gallery. Working with an extremely tight deadline, plenty of local Government and Strata related hoops to jump through, we installed the interior and outdoor signage by the due date and are now commissioned by The Aviary directly to carry out all their regularly updated promotional signage.
Materials:
A diverse range of materials was used for the project –
- Exterior Illuminated building signage incorporated custom aluminium frameworks, LED lighting systems and router cut acrylic.
- Laser cut acrylic for the way finding signage and protector panels.
- Computer cut vinyl graphics and digitally printed artworks.
Challenges Overcome:
Although a brand new construction, the site itself is heritage listed. All aspects of the project required both unanimous strata approval as well as Local Government sign off. Large scale lift equipment and elevated work platforms were needed to install the exterior signage so the install was carried out overnight by our trained installers and contracted traffic control. The exterior lightbox solutions needed to be extremely lightweight but also illuminate clearly. Adherence of the structure to glass whilst connecting to power certainly proved to be an interesting challenge.
